The Proulx farm offers activities throughout the year on those special occasions such as Halloween and during the Sugar Bush season it caters to the kids with lots of slides and places to crawl around and don't forget the animals at the Petting Barn. The close location to Ottawa and decent pricing along with the full compliment of activities for the kids make the Proulx Farm a must visit for the entire family.

June 26th 2006
We recently went back for some strawberry picking and I have added some more photos look for them near the bottom. If you plan to pick Strawberries bring your sunscreen and if forget to bring containers for picking you can purchase baskets for .75 (2006) to load your berries into.

I'm going to assume the Proulx Farm has some Easter Activities.	Winter 2005 - Horses pull the wagons along the muddy road.	The kids seem to love the burlap sack slide.

As I mentioned the Horses have been replaced.	Double trailer system assures lots of people can be shuttled to the Maple syrup.	Most of the area uses a pumping system but they have left an area with buckets for the kids to collect!
A drop forms and falls into the bucket for collection.	Winter 2006	Of course this is the main reason the kids want to come!
I think this may be a left-over from Halloween.	Summer 2006	Tractors provide a quick ride to the Strawberry picking fields.

Services/Seasons:

Sugar Bush
Our sugar bush begins operation starting last Sunday of February until mid-April.
Visit the syrup shack to see and smell the sap being transformed into maple syrup. We still produce our syrup using wood burning fires, and bottled it on the premises.
Enjoy a pancake or a full sugar bush meal with an "All you can eat buffet"

Horse Drawn Sleighrides
All sleigh or wagon rides are with reservation only.
Come and enjoy our farm in the winter with a sleigh or wagon ride. Nothing compares to the experience of winter in the forest with only the sounds of the horses and wilderness.

Raspberries
Exact dates of the raspberry season changes every year as "Mother Nature" allows.

Strawberries
Exact dates of the strawberry season changes every year as "Mother Nature" allows.

Sweet Corn - Corn Roast
Exact dates of the strawberry season changes every year as "Mother Nature" allows.
We specialize in the yellow sweet corn such as the Cluster, Platoon, King Arthur, etc..

Pumpkin Festival
Our farm is transformed into a halloween giant play area.
Come join us at the farm for a ghostly gathering in a country setting

Group Picnics
Groups only by reservation only.
Nothing compares to a horse-drawn hay ride, a picnic in the open air surrounded by the sound of birds or simply sitting singing around a bon fire under the stars.

Pros

• Close by and the Farm is open through out the year for various activities such as Halloween, Sugarbush and Strawberry season and of course much more.
• Decent rates and with lots of stuff for the kids you can plan to stay for a while.
• Large picnic area during the warmer months to enjoy.

Cons

• It appears that the horses have been traded in for Tractors
• Depending on the season it can be pretty muddy so be careful....
  
  Update June 2007
• Since 2006 the farm has begun to charge $2.00 per person to gain admission to the farm and will refund up to the amount paid towards your purchases but will not refund any admission not used towards the purchase. So a family of four would pay $8.00 and if they pick only one basket worth $6.00 they loose the $2.00 paid as admission, if you have picked two baskets worth $12.00 you will need to pay $4.00 upon exit. In principle this seems fair except the farm has not upgraded or changed the facilities since they implemented the new system so I'm not sure if any benefit to the visitor will eventually be seen.
