Merrickville Blockhouse Museum

The official web site is www.realmerrickville.ca
Having officially been dubbed as "Canada’s most beautiful village" and with more designated heritage buildings than any other Ontario community of like size, Merrickville which was founded in 1791 is a unique and vibrant Victorian village. Idyllically situated along the historic Rideau Canal visit the Blockhouse Museum and the merrickville lock station. Merrickville also hosts many unique shops and you can also visit The Friends of the Rideau they also offer a lovely cruise to the Rideau Bird Sanctuary aboard the electric launch "Harriet By". A pleasant and relaxing trip, it's a great way to get out and see a little bit of the wonder of the Rideau.
